Colby raises $5,067.24 to help fight hunger

Colby, KS – 24/7 Travel Store is pleased to announce the success of its Food Bank Fill-Up campaign, which raised over $48,000 across all locations to support local food banks. With donations from customers and team members reaching $26,083.84, and the company matching up to $3,000 per location, the campaign made a significant impact in the fight against hunger.

“We are deeply grateful for the support we received across all our locations,” said Jackie Hynes, Director of Marketing at 24/7 Travel Store. “This campaign truly demonstrated the power of community and the importance of coming together for a common cause. We’re especially proud of the teamwork in Russell, Hays, and Goodland, where communities went above and beyond to achieve the full matching contribution. Our Colby location also showed outstanding community engagement, with their food bank representatives actively connecting with local residents to boost participation. Their efforts went beyond simply asking at the register, embodying the spirit of true community involvement.”

The Colby location raised an impressive $5,067.24 for the Genesis Food Pantry of Thomas County, helping the local community fight hunger. Anthony Meyer, Retail Associate, was proud of the Colby store’s contribution and shared, “This community always steps up when it comes to helping those in need, and this year’s results prove that.”

Expressing appreciation for the Colby community’s generosity, Jenny Hurtt, representative of Genesis Food Pantry representative shared, “We are very thankful for this fundraiser as it comes at a much-needed time each year. The holiday months are approaching, and these funds help us fill the boxes for our Christmas Distribution each year. Currently, we plan to use these funds to ensure that we can purchase meat products to fill the boxes. The availability of meat from Kansas Food Bank, where we purchase many of the staple foods we provide to families in need, is currently very low. We are very thankful for the 24/7 team and the community as a whole!”

Thanks to the generosity of the Colby community and the dedication of the store’s team, the funds raised will go directly to support families in need in Thomas County, ensuring they have food on their tables this season.
