The community of Goodland, Kansas is filling up their food bank this week after participating in the 24/7 Travel Store “Food Bank Fill-Up”. Genesis Food Bank of Sherman County received a donation of $1,753.61, which comes from 5 cents of every gallon of gas sold at the Goodland location during the event. These funds can be used however the food bank wishes – whether for operating costs, perishable groceries or other needs.
The fundraising event ran across all 10 24/7 Travel Store locations – raising a grand total of $23,917.24 for local Kansas food banks. President of the company, Mark Augustine, is excited to see the impact these funds will have. “Food Bank Fill-Up was a huge success far exceeding the amount we set out to raise.” said Augustine. “24-7 Travel Stores wants to thank each food bank, their volunteers and our local communities for getting involved and supporting this event.”
